~Hurricane season starts June 1st each year and ends November 30th~
"What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee."
~Psalm 56:3~
Here are a few Bible Verses to Comfort you:
"The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom
shall I be afraid?"
~Psalm 27:1~
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear:
because fear hath torment. He that feareth is
not made perfect in love."
~1 John 4:19~
Make sure you have all your valuables ready
to go if you need to evacuate!!!!!
"Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am
meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find
rest unto your souls."
~Matthew 11:29~
Safety in the midst of the storm!!!!!!!
Nahum chapter one has been very special to me. When I was on a trip in Europe a church had the Bible opened to this section. After some natural disaster or from war bombing destruction.........the church was spared. And when they found the Bible it was opened to this passage. If you read the first chapter you will see that there is destruction through out it. Now look at the middle verse: "The LORD is a stronghold in the time of danger. And He knoweth them the SEEK Him." So remember when it seems like fear and destruction is all around, stop and listen for that still small voice of the Lord.
"Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth. But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him."
~Luke 8:22-25~
Do you know what a Hurricane
WATCH & WARNING mean?
WATCH: Hurricane conditions are possible in the specified area
of the WATCH, usually within 36 hours.
WARNING: Hurricane conditions are expected in the specified
area of the WARNING, usually within 24 hours.
LEARN what to do during a WATCH OR a WARNING:
What to Do When a Hurricane WATCH Is Issued:
Listen to NOAA Weather Radio or local radio or TV stations for up-to-date storm information.
Prepare to bring inside any lawn furniture, outdoor decorations or ornaments, trash cans, hanging plants, and anything else that can be picked up by the wind.
Prepare to cover all windows of your home. If shutters have not been installed, use precut plywood as described above. Note: Tape does not prevent windows from breaking, so taping windows is not recommended.
Fill your car's gas tank.
Recheck manufactured home tie-downs.
Check batteries and stock up on canned food, first aid supplies, drinking water, and medications.
"When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee."
~Isaiah 43:2~
What to Do When a Hurricane WARNING Is Issued:
Listen to the advice of local officials, and leave if they tell you to do so.
Complete preparation activities.
If you are not advised to evacuate, stay indoors, away from windows.
Be aware that the calm "eye" is deceptive; the storm is not over. The worst part of the storm will happen once the eye passes over and the winds blow from the opposite direction. Trees, shrubs, buildings, and other objects damaged by the first winds can be broken or destroyed by the second winds.
Be alert for tornadoes. Tornadoes can happen during a hurricane and after it passes over. Remain indoors, in the center of your home, in a closet or bathroom without windows.
Stay away from flood waters. If you come upon a flooded road, turn around and go another way. If you are caught on a flooded road and waters are rising rapidly around you, get out of the car and climb to higher ground.
Don't forget that we don't have to fear. We can trust that the
Lord cares for us and keeps us in the palm of His hand.
"The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble;
and he knoweth them that trust in him."
~Nahum 1:7~
And if you are still afraid then:
Pray and ask the Lord to protect you. Ask Him to send His angels to protect you and minister to you in your need. Plead the BLOOD of Jesus over yourself and your home. There is power in the blood. Quote Bible Verses and sing scripture choruses. Grab your Bible and flashlight. Read the word of God in the bathroom tub if that is the safest place in your home. Or take it with you to the closest Hurricane shelter.
Remember that the Lord only promises us today. We never know what tomorrow will bring. But the Lord does. He knows your needs and your heart and yet loves you unconditionally. Don't put off until tomorrow what you need to do today. Get your relationship and heart right with the Lord. Eternity is a long time to spend without Him.
Here are a few more Bible Verses
to Comfort you as you Leave:
"The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he
knoweth them that trust in him."
~Nahum 1:7~
"And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice."
